It was interesting to learn that education, including higher education in Slovenia, is free. This is really nice for Slovenians however I wonder if there are any hidden costs with this. I did probe this a bit with some of the faculty, and looks like the only hidden cost here is the competition for getting into the choice university and the choice programs you have to get good grades and pass a tough competitive exam. If you wish to become a doctor or an engineer then prepare to work really hard in school.
