First day in Venice...and the world's best gelato!

Our first day here in Venice, we took a nice walking tour and went through the Doge's palace and St. Mark's Basilica which was absolutely beautiful.   Later on after our site visit we had our free time, and a few of us stumbled upon a gelato shop, and it was amazing.  I am a ice cream junkie, so for me this was heaven.  The young woman at the shop was asking me if I wanted something extra and I didn't understand her, so I just said to go ahead and do whatever she was suggesting.  She then loaded up the gelato with fresh cream and cookies.  Great way to cap off a long hot day!
