What a unique experience to tour a Murano glass furnace! We were able to see a glass piece formed from the beginning to end and about the history and future of the industry. The pieces in the showroom were unbelievably intricate. It was impressive to learn how the master glass makers learn through experience. The market of common items is shrinking due to foreign mass produced replicas and squeezing out murano glass supply, so the artisans are embracing the niche market of high quality pieces.
